Tahiti Travel Tips

Traveling in a foreign land can often be consusing and scary. Since Tahiti and her surrounding islands are relatively small, the options are typically easier to locate and less cumbersome then some honeymoon destinations.

If you are flying into Tahiti, you'll be landing at the International Airport of Tahiti Faa which is located just outside of downtown Papeete. If you intend to fly to the outer islands, the Air Tahiti terminal is easily accessible within the airport.

From the airport you'll have several options which are also available at Bora Bora, Moorea and the other islands.
  • Travelers on Vacation packages are typically met by the tour company, which will provide transportation to your honeymon resort.
  • Le truck - Puclic transportation in Tahiti. This is basically a cab mounted on a flatbed.
  • Car rentals - You must be 21 and have a valid drivers license for one year in your country of origin. Most major car rental agents accept major cards.
  • Scooters and bikes - Rentals are available on most islands.
