Each person must furnish a birth certificate, must be of legal age and also must present a certificate of celibacy to prove they have never been married.

If you are widowed or divorced you must supply legal documents to verify this. If you have children you must supply birth certificates for them and have all papers legally translated into French. The birth certificates must be marked with a translation date, within the last 3 months prior to your wedding application.

Pre-marriage medical certificates are required within the last 2 months. Some local municipalites may require a certificate from your foreign country verifying that the marriage is legal.
